Welcome!
Welcome to our homepage of Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium (FEG) in Bonn.
Our school is a public grammar school with over 1200 students.
FEG is internationally orientated and the only grammar school in Germany that offers students the opportunity to acquire one or two further qualifications in addition to the German Abitur: these are the French Baccalauréat (AbiBac) and the International Baccalaureate (IB).
Since 2008 our students have had the additional offer of acquiring the excellence label CertiLingua.
In grade 8 the students have a choice between the languages Spanish and Latin, in addition to English and French, which are both compulsory subjects from grade 5 on. This diversity of learning foreign languages is supplemented by the Chinese language club offered as an extracurricular activity.
In the bilingual French classes Geography, History and Politics are taught in French; furthermore, bilingual English modules in Physics and History are on their schedule in grade 9.
At FEG learning foreign languages is facilitated as our students are encouraged to apply their language abilities in practise. The bilingual lessons and extensive exchange programs allow such practical application.
In the subjects of natural sciences our students take part in numerous competitions and projects where they have to make use of their knowledge of foreign languages.
Furthermore, FEG does not miss out on the development of artistic skills. The students can cultivate their dancing, singing and acting potentials and are offered a variety of extracurricular activities in the artistic field.
There are specific projects to support the students in respect to the development of their individual strengths and their occupational choices.
School starts at 7:45 am. The end of the school day varies, depending on the personal schedule, however the afternoon classes end at 3:35 pm.
During the one-hour-lunch break, the children can have lunch in the cafeteria, relax in their classrooms or play in the school yard.
